Learn to Dance Argentine Tango at Vino Bella! 5 Week Beginner Series, Monday nights beginning on April 12th. Argentine Tango, is a sophisticated, passionate dance that will provide the dedicated practitioner an intelligent, sensual way to socialize, develop subtle balance and body awareness. This class series will focus on establishing a solid lead-follow connection and a basic vocabulary of Tango movements that will allow you to navigate the dance floor. No previous experience is necessary and no partner is required! We will do our best to maintain an even lead-follow balance within the class. Space is limited to 12 couples so sign up early! When: Monday nights from 8:00?9:00pm, followed by 1/2 hour of guided practice Cost: $60 per person for the series (This works out to $12 per class including practice time!) Classes taught by: Jacqueline Stevenson Jacqueline has been dancing for over 25 years and her background in ballet, modern, ballroom, swing, and salsa brings a unique perspective to the elegance of Argentine Tango. While she has performed and taught other styles of dance, it wasn?t until Jacqueline discovered Tango that she discovered her true passion. This passion for Tango recently took her to Buenos Aires, where she spent 2 ½ months studying with some of the best teachers there and dancing with many great dancers from all over the world. Her teaching style emphasizes natural movements and a sensitive lead-follow connection within the dance Travis Boothe Travis has been dancing consistently over the last 2 1/2 years, and over that time has attracted the attention of some of the best Tango instructors in the region.His background in Martial arts and Yoga laid the foundation of his movement education and over the last ten years as a professional fitness instructor he has developed a clear, concise method of communicating complex movement patterns. Travis? goal is to encourage a sense of play, accomplishment, and selfefficacy, while learning a beautiful evolving, social art form. Both Jacqueline and Travis currently train and perform with Tango En Vie, Seattle?s first Tango performance group, organized and coached by Sara Thomsen, a well respected teacher and performer within the dance community. Tango En Vie features highly trained dancers from backgrounds that include jazz, ballet, ballroom and martial arts, demonstrating the beauty and authentic lead-follow connection of tango that goes beyond choreography. |
