Classes taught by: Jacqueline Stevenson
Jacqueline has been dancing for over 25 years and her background in ballet, modern, ballroom, swing, and salsa brings a unique perspective to the elegance of Argentine Tango. While she has performed and taught other styles of dance,
it wasn?t until Jacqueline discovered Tango that she discovered her true passion. This passion for Tango recently took her to Buenos Aires, where she spent 2 ½ months studying with some of the best teachers there and dancing with many great dancers from all over the world. Her teaching style emphasizes natural movements and a sensitive lead-follow connection within the dance
Travis has been dancing consistently over the last 2 1/2 years, and over that time
has attracted the attention of some of the best Tango instructors in the region. His background in Martial arts and Yoga laid the foundation of his movement education and over the last ten years as a professional fitness instructor he has
developed a clear, concise method of communicating complex movement patterns.
Travis? goal is to encourage a sense of play, accomplishment, and selfefficacy, while learning a beautiful evolving, social art form.
Both Jacqueline and Travis currently train and perform with Tango En Vie, Seattle?s first Tango
performance group, organized and coached by Sara Thomsen, a well respected teacher and performer
within the dance community. Tango En Vie features highly trained dancers from backgrounds that include jazz, ballet, ballroom and martial arts, demonstrating the beauty and authentic lead-follow connection of tango that goes beyond choreography.
