Description Musician Bio

Carol Whitaker
Flute / Penny Whistle - Born and raised in England, Carol grew up studying classical flute through the Royal Associate Board of Music system. A Penny Whistle in a Christmas stocking started her on a Celtic journey which continues to this day. Carol also plays other members of the aerophone family: Ocarina, Native American Flute, Recorder and the Tabor Pipe.

Tami Curtis
Bodhran / Fiddle - Though six generations from Ireland, Tami still feels a bit of her ancestry running through her blood. Influenced by the Irish group Altan, she picked up her sister's violin five years ago and began to learn Celtic tunes from a local teacher and later continuing on with her fellow students, self-taught. After watching The Corrs play "Toss the Feathers" she decided that playing the Bodhran would be a feather in her cap.

Sue Lawrence
Fiddle A former special education teacher and recreational violinist since grade school, Sue lives her passion every day by working full time at Hammond Ashley Violins and enjoying her passion of playing Celtic tunes.

David Edfeldt
Guitar / Fiddle - As a child David had 12 years of perfect attendance in choir. Gospel lead to bluegrass singing and only in recent years to playing. Following the roots of Appalachian music back to Celtic sources is a natural extension of that first love.

Greg Stearns
Bodhran / Percussion - No bio available

Michael Hurtenbach
Button Accordian / Guitar - Michael has been studying and playing music since his early years, with a stint performing for pay during college. He has experience with jazz, bluegrass, early music, avant-garde, classical, theatrical, liturgical, and of course Celtic. His instruments include French horn, Voice, Guitar, Mandolin, Recorder, Button Accordion, and Concertina.

Daniel Horn
Uilleann Pipes - Originally from McPherson, KS Daniel began studying music as a young child, starting with classical piano and eventually adding the French horn and pipe organ. In high school he picked up the highland bagpipes when he was recruited by his town's pipe band, and a few years later discovered the Irish Uilleann pipes, which have now become his favorite instrument. Daniel also plays the Penny Whistle and 5-string Banjo.
